Mercedes-Benz India CEO Santosh Iyer has strongly pitched to boost India's auto export. During the CNBCTV18 Global Leadership Summit on Thursday, Iyer appreciated the "Make in India" initiative but added, "We want to ensure that cars from India can go out". He suggested a policy that focuses not just on "Make for India" but "Make for the world" as well.

"For India, it is important to strike more deals to get the borders open and compete globally," Iyer said.

On Mercedes-Benz business in India, Iyer said, "Three years ago, the average selling price used to be around $60,000 for us, today it has gone around $100,000". According to Iyer, there has been a significant shift in preimunisation.

On green energy, Iyer asserted that Mercedes-Benz will exacerbate the transition to green energy.
