Abhishek Ganguly, Managing Director of PUMA India and South East Asia moves on

Abhishek Ganguly is reportedly starting his own sportswear venture.

Abhishek Ganguly joined PUMA India in 2005 as Director of Sales and Marketing and was appointed Managing Director in September 2014, also leading PUMA's South East Asia business in 2022.

Abhishek Ganguly, Managing Director of PUMA India and South East Asia, is reportedly moving on from the German footwear and apparel multinational. He’s been a part of the company for close to 17 years now.

While the Puma team did not confirm the development, it is expected there will be an official update by end of day today.

According to industry sources. Ganguly is set to leave the company in August to start his own sportswear venture.

Karthik Balagopalan, currently the senior manager of growth markets with PUMA SE in Germany, will take over as his successor.

Ganguly joined PUMA India in 2005 as Director of Sales and Marketing and was appointed Managing Director in September 2014, also leading PUMA's South East Asia business in 2022.

Under his leadership the brand saw a complete turnaround in India in terms of sales and revenue.

Puma India achieved 145 percent growth in the last two years and a revenue of Rs 2980 crore in calendar year 2022, surpassing the combined revenues of Nike, Adidas, and Reebok in the country.
