Why advertising agencies can no longer afford single-sector dependence

Nirvik Singh, who led Grey as global chief operating officer, has reportedly stepped down from his position.
Singh, who took up the role in 2019 along with being the CEO - Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, began his career at Lipton India as an account executive.
He went on to work across J.Walter Thompson, Trikaya Grey Advertising, and Raymond Limited.
He has led several acquisitions done by the Grey Group in China, India, South Korea, Thailand, UAE, UK and South Africa. These acquisitions range from E-Commerce to Data, Shopper Marketing and Martech companies. He has worked across five continents and various industry sectors with deep expertise in CPG, Retail, Beverages, Tobacco and Fintech.
Singh has spent over three decades with Grey and was one of the first Indians in global leadership of ad companies.
Despite being the original architects of global brands, advertising holding companies are collapsing in market value because they still sell human hours while the world now rewards scalable, self-learning systems.
