L'Oreal names Jacques Lebel as India country manager; to succeed Aseem Kaushik

Aseem Kaushik will be taking on the role of the company's chairman. Both the roles will be effective starting October 1, 2025.

French multinational personal care company L'Oreal has named Jacques Lebel as the India country manager, and will succeed Aseem Kaushik who is taking on the role of the company's chairman, effective October 1, 2025.

As per the Indian subsidiary of L'Oreal SA, Kaushik's new role underscores its commitment to India's dynamic market landscape with a mandate to focus on corporate reputation, managing public affairs, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and driving corporate social responsibility initiatives, stated an ET report.

Lebel, who previously led the personal care company as director general, L'Oreal Consumer Products Mexico, began his career with the company as a junior project manager and rose to the ranks as the project manager. Then, he moved to Procter & Gamble, where as the former senior assistant brand manager, he led P&G's entry into mass channel toothpaste across more than 10 new markets.

AB InBev appointed him, and he was elevated to holding the position of country director for France.

Kaushik has been with L’Oréal for 27 years and held many leadership positions within the Group. He started his career in 1995 in the Consumer Products Division of India to set up and expand field operations.

He then took on several leadership roles in the Professional Products Division (PPD) and was instrumental in creating the modern Salon industry in India and building a successful sustainable business model with partners.

For L'Oreal, whose portfolio consists of brands like Maybelline New York, Garnier, and L'Oreal Paris, India is a core strategic market. During FY25, L'Oreal India's sales grew 14 percent to Rs 5,685 crore and its net profit stood at Rs 488 crore, further added the report.
