India’s search behaviour this year reflected a dynamic blend of sporting passion, cultural moments and digital curiosity. Cricket continued to dominate the nation’s attention — from the IPL’s enduring grip to a breakout year for women’s cricket, celebrated through dedicated trending lists for women’s matches and female sporting personalities.

AI captured the public imagination too, with Google Gemini emerging as the #2 top-trending search, while quirky Nano Banana trends added to the year’s digital buzz.

Indians also turned to Google to explore rising stars and cultural moments. Personalities such as Jemimah Rodrigues and Vaibhav Suryavanshi climbed the trending charts, while major national events like the Maha Kumbh drove significant search activity. On the practical front, users relied heavily on Google for real-time updates, looking up queries such as “earthquake near me” and “air quality near me.”

Despite the fast pace of the year, there was room for joy and escapism. People researched emerging travel hotspots like Phu Quoc, tapped into the Saiyaara craze, explored viral sensations such as Labubu and the #67 meme, and paused to honour cultural icons, including the beloved Dharmendra.

From entertainment to emergencies, AI breakthroughs to viral oddities — India’s A–Z of Google searches captured a year full of curiosity, discovery and cultural energy.
