Amazon expands Prime service to include fresh groceries for rapid delivery

The service is available on orders above $25, with plans to expand to over 2,300 locations by the end of 2025.

Amazon’s expanded same-day grocery delivery service for Prime members is set to shake up the grocery delivery market, putting added pressure on rivals like Walmart, Kroger, and Target.

Amazon is now offering Prime members in over 1,000 cities and towns—including North Carolina, Ohio, Milwaukee, and Raleigh—the ability to order fresh groceries like blueberries and milk alongside everyday items, all delivered within hours. The service is available on orders above $25, with plans to expand to over 2,300 locations by the end of 2025.

Amazon’s expanded same-day grocery delivery service for Prime members is set to shake up the grocery delivery market, putting added pressure on rivals like Walmart, Kroger, and Target.

If the $25 minimum isn’t met, Prime members can still opt for same-day delivery for a $2.99 fee. Non-Prime members can access the service for $12.99 per order, regardless of size.

Previously, Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market were the primary grocery delivery options for Prime subscribers.
