The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has announced an extension of the deadline for receiving comments and counter-comments on its Consultation Paper titled 'Digital Transformation through 5G Ecosystem' released on September 29, 2023.

Originally set for October 30, 2023, and November 13, 2023, respectively, TRAI had invited stakeholders to provide insights on policy challenges and the appropriate framework for the swift adoption and effective utilization of new technologies in the 5G ecosystem.

In response to requests from industry associations, citing difficulties during the festive season in collating essential information, TRAI has granted an extension. The industry bodies emphasized the critical nature of the paper, requiring in-depth discussions internally before providing comprehensive feedback.

Considering these concerns, TRAI has decided to extend the deadline for the submission of written comments until November 27, 2023, and for counter-comments until December 11.
