Marvel star Scarlett Johansson takes legal action against AI app

Hollywood superstar Scarlett Johansson has taken legal action against an AI-powered app due to an advertisement by the app using her name and likeness without permission.
The advertisement was posted on Elon Musk’s X by Lisa AI; 90’s Yearbook & Avatar, an image generation app. Johansson took legal action after the ad was spotted on October 28.
In a statement, Scarlett Johansson’s lawyer Kevin Yorn said, "We do not take these things lightly. Per our usual course of action in these circumstances, we will deal with it with all legal remedies that we will have.”
The ad posted on X, uses behind the scenes footage of the actress from the sets of her 2021 Marvel film ‘Black Widow’.
This news comes shortly after popular Hollywood actor Tom Hanks informed his fans of a circulating dental advertisement that uses an AI-generated version of him.
