IIT Kanpur to felicitate IPG Mediabrands' Shashi Sinha with 'Distinguished Alumnus Award 2024'

Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur will honour Shashi Sinha, chief executive officer, IPG Mediabrands India, with 'Distinguished Alumnus Award 2024'. This recognition is bestowed by the Institute on its alumni which recognises their contributions and achievements.

The award ceremony will take place on November 2, 2024 at the IIT Kanpur campus. Sinha, who is also an alumni of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, began his journey with Parle as a product manager. In the early 1990s, he set up media planning and media buying agency Lodestar.

In 2023, Sinha was honored with the AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 by the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI). This recognition celebrates his visionary leadership and profound impact on the Indian advertising industry.

Sinha is also actively involved in various industry bodies such as the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI), Past Chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC), Past President of The Ad Club, Current Chairman of Readership Studies Council of India (RSCI) and the Technical Committee of the Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC).
