Prasar Bharati has invited programme proposals for sourcing already produced programmes on license fee/royalty by the pubcaster for its digital and linear platforms.

Prasar Bharati has invited programme proposals for sourcing already produced programmes on license fee/royalty by the pubcaster for its digital and linear platforms.

Storyboard earlier reported that the family-friendly OTT platform by Prasar Bharati which was first announced in 2023 is likely to be launched on October 3.

The pubcaster invited applications from rights owner company/partnership firms/proprietary firm/ producer for sourcing of the programmes on license fee/royalty, which will be processed as per the guidelines mentioned in its recently released Content Sourcing Policy.

The offered programme should be ready-made or already produced and should not be older than 3 years from the date of release of the application, i.e. September 21 and not yet premiered or showcased on any other digital platform (in case of exclusive digital rights) or television network (in case of exclusive TV Rights).

The programmes must also comply with the Programme Code of Prasar Bharati, or any other guidelines, orders, or codes as specified by the government or any other regulatory body with respect to content streamed by the pubcaster.

The rights owner company must not be blacklisted or suspended by any government body or authority and the public broadcaster reserves the right to suspend or cancel the agreement in case of violation of the terms of the agreement in future and also reserves the right to review the selection process/terms and conditions during the agreement period by giving one month notice.

The applications (along with a preview of the trailer/promo) are invited via email, with no processing fees.

The last date for submission of applications will be October 20. The applications will be processed on a 'first-come, first-serve basis' from the date of notification in accordance with the content requirements of Prasar Bharati and the merit of the proposals as per Content Sourcing Policy.
