The atmosphere was emotional when NP Singh, Managing Director and CEO of Sony Pictures Networks India, addressed his colleagues on Friday evening. Reflecting on his 25-year tenure with SPNI, Singh expressed deep gratitude toward his colleagues.

During his farewell speech, emotionally charged Singh bowed down to thank his colleagues at SPNI and said, “My 25-year journey has been incredible. I could not have achieved this without the support of my family, my team, and all of you, my dear employees, who are like family to me.”

He continued, “On days when I wasn't feeling well, coming to the office and seeing all of you lovely people gave me energy. It was always heartwarming to exchange greetings with you when we ran into each other in the elevator. The smiles from the security staff motivated me and gave me the energy to wake up every morning and come to work. Seeing all your bright, sunny faces provided me with a much-needed boost. I cannot thank you all enough for the love and support you've given me.”

Singh personally thanked all his office support staff, mentioning them by name during his speech, and shared a few memorable anecdotes. With tears in their eyes, SPNI employees bid Singh adieu alongwith General Counsel Ashok Nambissan, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Nitin Nadkarni and Neeraj Vyas, Business Head for Sony Entertainment Television, Sony SAB, PAL, and Sony MAX movie cluster

After serving a 25-year tenure at SPNI, Singh announced on May 24, “Today, I have a significant update to share. After nearly 44 years in my career, including a rewarding 25-year tenure at SPNI, I have decided to step down from my role as Managing Director and CEO. Having reached many significant milestones with our team, I am now ready to focus on social change and shift from operational roles to advisory ones.”

“However, my commitment to SPNI and its success remains strong. During my time here, we established industry benchmarks, expanded our reach, and achieved many noteworthy accomplishments. I am dedicated to ensuring our legacy of success continues and grows under the new leadership,” he added.

Singh first joined Sony in 1999 as CFO, later became COO, and eventually became Managing Director and CEO in 2014. Gaurav Banerjee, the next leader of SPNI, was not present during the farewell ceremony. He is set to join the office on Monday.
