Rohan Malhotra, Managing Partner of Good Capital, passes away

The Indian startup ecosystem is reeling from the tragic news of the untimely passing of Rohan Malhotra, Managing Partner at Good Capital. Known for his infectious energy, generosity, and dedication to uplifting the next generation of entrepreneurs, Malhotra's sudden demise has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him.

A poignant tribute on social media read, "Shattering to think of a world without you, Rohan. In your short, well-lived life, you filled us with warmth, laughter, ambition, and hugs. They made only one like you. Yaaron ka yaar, hum sab ka bhai. Travel well, my brother. 'Big hug!' 💔" This sentiment echoed the feelings of the countless people whose lives Malhotra touched, personally and professionally.

Malhotra’s career trajectory was marked by an unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and growth. He began as an intern at HSBC, quickly demonstrating his business acumen, and later served as an advisor at AngelList India. He co-founded Investopad, a startup incubator, before taking on the role of Managing Partner at Good Capital, where he became a driving force in venture capital. His educational background, which included an M.A. in Business Management from the University of St. Andrews and YSS in Economics from Yale University, provided a strong foundation for his illustrious career.

Condolences and heartfelt messages from colleagues, friends, and industry leaders have been pouring in. One colleague shared, "Feeling broken. The kindest, most generous, and open-hearted one ever created. Rest in peace, Rohan." Another noted, "Deeply saddened. Hard to believe, still in shock. Had met him only a couple of times, but he was always very warm and generous."

Good Capital is a New-Delhi based micro venture capital (VC) firm. One of Good Capital’s standout investments is Meesho, a social commerce platform that has achieved unicorn status.

Other companies in Good Capital’s portfolio include Simsim (Acquired by Google), Definitive Intelligence (Acquired by Groq), Autonomic (Acquired by Ford), Orange Health, Solar Square Energy, Wealthy, and HyperTrack.

In addition to these, Good Capital has supported startups like bus ticket booking service Apnibus, e-learning platform Entri, and renewable energy company Neufin.
