Dentsu's Robert Gilby steps down

Robert Gilby, who was appointed in September 2022, had succeeded Ashish Bhasin.

Robert Gilby has almost three decades of experience in the media and entertainment industry and has worked in the Asia Pacific region for over 25 years. He has worked at The Walt Disney Company, Warnermedia and PwC and has extensive experience in markets that include China, India, Australia and Southeast Asia.

Robert Gilby, who led Dentsu APAC as Chief Executive Officer, has stepped down from his position.

Appointed in September 2022, Gilby succeeded Ashish Bhasin. His responsibilities, as reported by Campaign India, included unifying Dentsu's Asia Pacific business under the ‘One Dentsu’ strategy, driving growth, and fostering integration across the region.

With nearly three decades of experience in the media and entertainment industry, Gilby has worked in the Asia Pacific region for over 25 years. He has held key roles at The Walt Disney Company, Warner Media, and PwC, gaining extensive experience in markets such as China, India, Australia, and Southeast Asia.

Before joining Dentsu, Gilby was President of APAC at Nielsen, where he focused on building relationships with key media owners, brands, and agencies to deliver audience insights across the media ecosystem. Prior to that, he was CEO & Founder of Blue Hat Ventures, an investment and advisory firm focused on identifying and commercializing high-growth businesses in the digital media sector in Asia Pacific.

He also served in non-executive advisory and board roles with Singapore’s Ministry of Communications & Information, the InfoComm Media Development Authority, and as Chair of the Singapore Media Festival.
